Komen Houston Race for the Cure

Baby girls are pink? Baby Boys are blue? I would like to see a cure for the cancerous way people communicate with each other.

Today is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer is a deadly serious disease that affects 1 in 8 women in their lifetime, yet the way the Media & advertising agencies speak about cancer & breast cancer in particular adds to the hostility towards women.

Case in point, the ad campaign for MD Anderson Hospital.

MD Anderson's campaign went from the slogan "Making Cancer History" to "Cancer, How do we Fight you?"

MD Anderson's new ad campaign is some of the most OBNOXIOUS advertising on Houston TV today. Who signed off on approving these hostile, aggressive ads?

Most Houstonians have seen these ads, but have you noticed the change in language in how the message has changed from "Curing Caner" to "Fighting Cancer?"

CAN you hear the difference between CURING CANCER and FIGHTING CANCER?

How does this difference interms MAKE YOU FEEL???
