1984. Backwards From the Beginning. Womens History Month

UPDATE: Written in 1948 under the name George Orwell, Eric Arthur Blair 's dystopian nightmare reality is one of the root causes of 20th Century Misogyny.

Locally, here in Houston, one of our primary major thoroughfares is the Gulf Freeway, I-45.

During the Mid-Term Elections the name of our Freeway became WEAPONIZED AGAINST WOMEN, in a Sexist, Misogynistic way.

It was hurtful.

It was hateful & quite frankly is the Definition of Hate Speech against WOMEN.

BECAUSE this Presidential Term that we're now in is the 45th Presidency, some opposition groups have been referring to the man as "45," in a derogatory fashion: a SLUR, possibly even a Racial Slur.

Is there something wrong with the NUMBER 45???

Hmnnn. I wonder?

Imagine reading 1984 in the year 1984. All these years later Big Brother is still BACKWARDS.

There were four of us including myself in college in 1984 & I have no idea if the other 3 had to read it for English Lit like I did.

It has taken all these years later to truly understand what I was reading. After all, it is just a book - a work of fiction, right? There's no way this could possibly be happening, right?

For those who know Big Brother but haven’t read the book it is so much more than “Big Brother is watching.”

It is first & foremost about LIES.

Did you ever play “Opposite Day” as a child? I know I did.

In Orwell's "1984," the “Ministry of Love” inspires Hate??? The Ministry of Truth tells Lies??? What???

When does the LYING STOP???

Sounds like watching TV today…..Right???

Today is August 4th - 8/4/2018.

Nobody I know has ever acted this way.

Nobody I know has ever talked this way.

I had to learn this for myself.

Can we stop BLAMING WOMEN for the English Language???
