LIS. Special Election Periods for Medicare
UPDATE. ObamaCARE, MediCARE, Medicaid and CHIP save lives. The 45th President of this country has made it his mission to chip away at the Flagship Legislation of the Obama Administration.
The piece below speaks to people "Playing the Name Game" and what this does to people.
This is the ENTIRE premise of of "Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office."
"Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office" is a multi-dimensional look at the Sociological effects of Broadcast in Communications, in Politics, in Health Care & in the daily lives of all of us.
During a recent local Election, there was a Republican MAN with a NAME that is similar to mine. He LOST his Election. Does that mean that I lost too???
Because of a NAME???
No. Of course not. This is wrong & needs to CHANGE.
PEOPLE ARE INDIVIDUALS.
The original piece below speaks to LIS Special Election Periods for MediCARE. We are currently in Open Enrollment, meaning that no Special Election Period is needed at this time. LIS Open Enrollments are continuous 12 months a year outside of Open Enrollment. This is because LIS is tied to Finances & Financial Data is looked at every 30 days.
The fun & games with peoples lives & their paychecks are one of the reasons why I wanted to get out of Insurance & get back into Advertising.
My entry into the world of Health Insurance started with Medicare & OMG what a nightmare that is for Agents like me.
The MMA, Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 implemented in the George W. Bush Administration, created Low Income Subsidies for senior citizens needing extra help paying for the Medicare Part D Premiums & Out of Pocket Expenses specifically for their medications.
This is the biggest part of the problem with all of the Republican attempts to "Repeal & Replace Obamacare:" stunning HYPOCRISY.
The Republicans created Low Income SUBSIDIES in the first place & deemed it to be a good idea. This is EXACTLY THE SAME as what President Obama did for the rest of us who are too young for Medicare.
From the beginning of my Insurance career, I have had managers playing the Name Game & jerking me around in terms of LIS "Loss of Coverage" as seen in the Special Election Period Chart below:
So the office politics with the fun & games sounded a bit like this:
"What??? Your NAME is Lisa?
We're sorry, but you just lost your LIS Extra Help. No Paycheck for you."
Sound ridiculous? It is - and INFURIATING.
When will they stop playing games with Agents' paychecks???
This is not the "Wheel of Fortune." This is not the "Apprentice." This is not "To Tell the Truth." This is not a Game Show or a Reality Show, but it REALLY IS A NIGHTMARE.
