Equality Equals Peaceful Coexistence. Corona Virus Edition. Women's History Month

International Womens Day, Equal Rights Amendment Womens History Month

UPDATE. Numbers. It seems those terrible numbers have always been part of our past.

Why do they need to keep being part of our present & future???

Does this image inspire "love for WOMEN???"

These California Women's Rights Activists were protesting "Cruel & Unusual Punishment" under the 8th Amendment that is now part of our Constitution, after the Silent Sentinels were brutally beaten & jailed during the "Night of Terror" on November 14, 1917 for protesting at the White House during the Wilson Administration.

These days, people take the right to peacefully protest as a given.

Citizens are "Marching for This & Marching for That & Marching for the Other thing."

As the WORLD is dealing with the Global Crisis that is Covid-19 or the "Corona Virus, there may be singing in the streets, but I'm not sure we're all "Holding hands" & singing "Kum By Ya."

(Not that anyone should be holding hand & doing ANYTHING during Social Distancing.)

I'm also not sure that everyone is toning down the rhetoric either.

Here is but one example of the foolishness going on out there from one esteemed member of Congress - who I will quickly point out HAPPENS TO BE A MAN:

John Cornyn Tacky Tweet about Corona Virus

Suffice it to say that I would like to Thank the Brain Surgeons at the World Health Organization for Re-naming Covid-19 to Corona Virus.

Here's me thinking that A MAN was responsible for THAT too.

Thanks WHO.

Texans have got a Bee under their Bonnet & I don't mean maybe.

Social Media on Facebook, on Twitter & elsewhere are flooded with stuff like this"

This is an Election Year. Let's Vote for our First Female President. "Kum By Ya, Y'all"

Things like this are WHY the Equal Rights Amendment is still relevant

Let's make 2020 the year we Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment into the Constitution.

In general, women are the peacemakers of society. I know I am. I have always been about peace, love & flower power.

Not the kind of maniacal power of a subservient group rising up & giving the other guy “a taste of his own medicine.”

That is retaliation & there is nothing peaceful about retaliation. Retaliation is the kind of “eye for an eye” vengeful vindictive behavior that doesn’t solve anything.

This is my main problem with studying the painful history of things like Equality & Civil Rights.

Are Historians, Educators & Political Parties enlightening the public & teaching about that painful past to learn from it, or are you enraging the public & calling for revenge???

Historically, women's rights were not taught in schools in depth - at most, women were relegated to a footnote in History.

Would you be surprised to learn that historically WOMEN WERE VIEWED AS THE PROPERTY OF THEIR HUSBANDS???

So today is International Women's Day, which officially began in 1911.

Today's image is from the California effort to confirm & Ratify the 19th Amendment to the California State Constitution also taking place in 1911. After years of peaceful protest, California became the 18th State to sign the Amendment into law in 1919.

Thankfully, yesterday , the House of Representative passed an Anti-Hate Speech Bill:

This proves my point about WHY we still do need to pass the Equal Rights Amendment.

Advertisers on American TV think it's OK to attack Women in sexist, Misogynistic commercials that ENGENDER HATE AGAINST WOMEN.

Misogyny IS Hate Speech. Misogyny is a Problem in America
