Medicare & Medicaid. A Kitchen Table Industry. Women's Suffrage Centennial

Medicare & Medicaid. A Kitchen Table Industry

Medicare, Medicaid & the Americans With Disabilities Act all reached important milestones last week, even in the face of the relentless attempts by the Trump Administration to "Repeal & Replace ObamaCARE."

Even in the middle of the Global Health Crisis that is Covid-19, the attacks are never-ending.

It's actually astonishing that I would get Licensed in the first place with my long-standing belief that Insurance Companies are pure Evil, a big part of the reason I'm a fan of Socialized Medicine - not Medicare for all, but some kind of Government-Sponsored Universal Health Plan.

Having learned so much from the Patient side I figured "If 'ya can't beat 'em, join 'em." So I did.

Being a Female Health & Life Insurance Agent for the last 14 years, it has been an exercise in one frustration after another the entire time.

Medicare & Medicaid differ from Employee Benefits in that they are Individual Health Plans. As such they are a "Kitchen-Table Product."

Outside of the traditional Open Enrollment Period, I worked the Low Income Community of Senior Citizens who qualify for both Medicare & Medicaid: the Medi/Meds or "Duel Eligibles" as this group of Seniors is known within the Insurance Industry.

What I am saying when I talk about Medicare & Medicaid being a "Kitchen Table Product," is that as an Agent, I went to your Grandma's house, your Grandpa's house to help them get the Coverage they need.

To get there it was literally like running the Gauntlet "dodging bullets from Gangstas' & Thugs & Rappers" just to help your Grandma, with Boomboxes blaring terrible Misogynistic "Music" like DJ Screw.

I bet your Grandma would be mortified at some of those "Music" lyrics.

Elections have consequences.

It is incredibly difficult & sad to have to read on Social Media & watch on TV people complaining that the 45th President of the United States is a Racist.

It is incredibly difficult & sad to have to read on Social Media & watch on TV people complaining that the 45th President of the United States is a White Supremacist.

He is probably both of those things.

It is frustrating & infuriating for the rest of us who are NOT.

Secretary Clinton should have been the 45th President of this Country.

Secretary Clinton would have taken care of the Nation's need for Health Insurance.

Tomorrow is August 4th - 8/4.

This always ratchets-up the MISOGYNISTIC attitudes towards WOMEN.

Every year.

So what is my point?

The word is Prejudice.

ANYONE can be Prejudice.

I believe that PREJUDICE kept Registered Voters home in the 2016 Election.
