1984. Backwards From the Beginning. NUMBERS Matter. Women's Suffrage Centennial
UPDATE. Prior to attending the Alley theater's Production of "1984" as I posted yesterday, this has been my August 4th post for the last 3 years. This poor post has been Updated & Updated again & Updated some more until I am blue in the face posting about the sheer hatred of Women being Broadcast on the Big Brother Channel also known as CBS.
THIS is exactly WHY WOMEN DO STILL NEED measures like the Equal Rights Amendment to protect us from Hate of all kinds including Hate Speech.
The "Reality Show" Big Brother is having their 2020 Season Opener tonight on CBS.
I will NOT be watching.
As you will read below, the great irony of this on a personal level is that as a College Kid 30 years ago, I read "1984" in the year 1984 for English Lit.
It is no wonder that these United States cannot Elect our 1st Female President in US History with CBS SLANDERING WOMEN AS A CLASS OF PEOPLE.
Their SEXISM needs to be called out for what it is.
Speaking of yesterday's Events for August 4th, these States held their Primary Elections: Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri & Washington.
I cannot help but wonder what SEXIST ASSHOLES in these States Scheduled the TIMING of their Votes & how many Female Candidates managed to win their Primaries despite the BLATANT SEXIST ATTACK ON WOMEN?

While I am typically most critical of ABC as a TV Network, here is where I point out the rampant, unfettered MISOGYNY on CBS, also known as the Big Brother Network.
CBS's decades-long Reality Show "Big Brother" that exposes Video Surveillance & lack of Privacy, coupled with their long-standing News Magazine "48 Hours" have normalized Hate Speech against Women.
Below is what I said about the Book "1984."
Yesterday, I reviewed a local Play based on the Book.
If any other identifiable Minority Group were so openly attacked in public like this there would be such an outcry.
MISOGYNY IS DISCRIMINATION.
DISCRIMINATION IS NOT OK.

UPDATE: Written in 1948 under the name George Orwell, Eric Arthur Blair 's dystopian nightmare reality is one of the root causes of 20th Century Misogyny.
Locally, here in Houston, one of our primary major thoroughfares is the Gulf Freeway, I-45.
During the Mid-Term Elections the name of our Freeway became WEAPONIZED AGAINST WOMEN, in a Sexist, Misogynistic way.
It was hurtful.
It was hateful & quite frankly is the Definition of Hate Speech against WOMEN.
BECAUSE this Presidential Term that we're now in is the 45th Presidency, some opposition groups have been referring to the man as "45," in a derogatory fashion: a SLUR, possibly even a Racial Slur.
Is there something wrong with the NUMBER 45???
Hmnnn. I wonder?
Imagine reading 1984 in the year 1984. All these years later Big Brother is still BACKWARDS.
There were four of us including myself in college in 1984 & I have no idea if the other 3 had to read it for English Lit like I did.
It has taken all these years later to truly understand what I was reading. After all, it is just a book - a work of fiction, right? There's no way this could possibly be happening, right?
For those who know Big Brother but haven’t read the book it is so much more than “Big Brother is watching.”
It is first & foremost about LIES.
Did you ever play “Opposite Day” as a child? I know I did.
In Orwell's "1984," the “Ministry of Love” inspires Hate??? The Ministry of Truth tells Lies??? What???
When does the LYING STOP???
Sounds like watching TV today…..Right???

Nobody I know has ever acted this way.

I had to learn this for myself.
Can we stop BLAMING WOMEN for the English Language???
This is DISCRIMINATION.
This is SEXISM.
This is PREJUDICE.
Discrimination is NEVER OK.
Learn to treat PEOPLE as INDIVIDUALS.
Learn to treat INDIVIDUALS with RESPECT.
Learn to speak with Emotional Intelligence.
