Discrimination on ACCOUNT of Sex would be ILLEGAL under the Equal Rights Amendment, but both of the two major Political Parties are blocking publication of this already-Ratified Amendment to our Constitution as the 28th Amendment.
100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment was first proposed by Alice Paul is ENTIRELY TOO LONG for Women to have to wait for FAIRNESS in all areas of life.
Women's Equality Day will be coming up at the end of the month - a fact that I know only too well. August 26th 2016, I got off the sideline & opened this webpage.
One year later on my 1 year Anniversary, I made it official & started the process to Certify as a Women-Owned Small Business with the SBA & all that that entails - SPECIFICALLY to speak out against Sexism & Misogyny.
It's not a date I would have picked - in fact I have grumbled under my breath every year when the time comes.
Not to go into too much detail on THAT FACT, but suffice it to say that I would NOT have picked ANY DATE IN AUGUST because I LOVE THE WOMEN IN MY LIFE.
With respect to the actual TIMING, on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment was Certified without ceremony in Sec of State Bainbridge Colby's home office.
In 1963, MLK's March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom took place on August 28.
In searching the Internet, there does not appear to be any correlation to a significant date for MLK's March on Washington to have been set for August 28, 1963.
The date appears to have been arbitrarily picked by King.
Interesting that JOBS were an integral part of the March as here in 2023 hostile-work-environments-harassment are a PROBLEM FOR WOMEN.
In 1971 Bella Abzug formally took back the Date & made Women's Equality Day OFFICIAL
This year, the March on Washington coincides with Women's Equality Day - I'm not sure if this was done on purpose or not, but something sure smells suspicious.
Yesterday was August 4th - 8/4.
And EVERY YEAR it is a day to ATTACK WOMEN WITH A CALENDAR - something that's been on my radar since I was a College kid in the 1980s.
Infuriatingly enough, despite having to read George Orwell's 1984 for English Literature, I never put 2 + 2 together.
After all, a Novel is a work of FICTION, right?
I was well into my 50s before I figured this out for myself by watching TV.
So in particular, how did the phenomenon of MISOGYNOIR become SO BAD???
Misogyny is defined as "Hatred of Women."
The Suffix "noir" means Black.
Misogynoir is SHOCKINGLY PREVALENT IN BLACK MUSIC.
So how did the Hate Speech against WOMEN in Black Music get so viscous?
Could it be because ABC is GLORIFYING & NORMALIZING Hate Speech against WOMEN???
Speaking of watching TV, 50 Years of Rap is scheduled for this month.
GMA Saturday just ran a piece on Tupac Shakur & his Music Video for "Brenda's Got a Baby."
Well lo & behold MY MOTHER'S NAME IS BRENDA - but DEFINELTY NOT Tupac's BRENDA.
NOBODY I know "Speaks in Code," least of all my MOTHER.
STOP BLAMING WOMEN FOR SPEAKING IN CODE.
No idea how attitudes of today have strayed so far from the teaching of MLK., but
President Biden is ALLOWING Discrimination on ACCOUNT of Sex to continue
Publish the EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT TO END DISCRIMINATION ON ACCOUNT OF SEX.
SLANDERING WOMEN IS NOT FREE SPEECH - IT IS DISCRIMINATION ON ACCOUNT OF SEX.
