That's a Wrap on Women's Suffrage Centennial. Now Let's VOTE
Our Right to Vote is precious & not something to take for granted. Much blood, sweat & tears were shed to gain this valuable Right to make your Voice heard in the Electoral Process. There are enough Voter Suppression tactics employed today to Subvert the Vote. Don't Suppress your own Vote by "sitting this one out." The failure of REGISTERS VOTERS to cast a Vote in 2016 is what enabled a BULLY to steal the 2016 Election. Say "I Will Vote - in Every Election Every Time." The

Women Can't Wait. Thoughts on the 28th Amendment. Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment Now
For the three years since I've opened my Web Page, I've been on a mission to fix those terrible NUMBERS for Women. It has been a long-standing pet peeve of mine beginning with the Fact that I was Born on Friday the 13th. Those dodgy NUMBERS have been the bain of my existence MY ENTIRE LIFE. WHEN the Equal Rights Amendment FINALLY does get Ratified, it will be the 28th Amendment to the US Constitution. OMG. 28th - AGAIN. Really??? From the beginning, I've wondered why Women's

Secret Law of Attraction 101: DON'T Be a Gangsta. Women's Suffrage Centennial
For Women's Equality Day on August 26th of this year, several Women's Rights Activist Groups Organized Virtual Concert Events in recognition of the Women's Suffrage Centennial. Women still need the protections afforded under the Equal Rights Amendment for any number of reasons, including Hate Speech, Domestic Violence & myriad other reasons. Beyond the infuriation of women having to listen to Rappers Scream the word BITCH as if it is Socially Acceptable (It is NOT) why would

Mother Nature??? Can We Stop Humanizing the Weather? Women's Suffrage Centennial
UPDATE. August. The 8th Month of the year. It is always a time of mixed emotions for me with some of the happiest times & some of the most heart-breaking times. My Grandma's Birthday is August 19th. My Mom died on August 12, 2012. And of course August is the peak of Hurricane Season which is never fun to live through. Below is something I wrote after Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston/Galveston Metropolitan Area as we prepare for the approach of Hurricane Laura even

Prohibition on Alcohol. The 18th Amendment, The 19th Amendment & Susan B. Anthony. Women's
Learning how Tennessee became the final State needed to Ratify the 19th Amendment was very eye-opening & really resonated with me as it took a major detour through the issue of Prohibition of Alcohol that became the 18th Amendment - preceding Voting Rights for Women by about eight months. Many of the same Women's Rights Activists, including Susan B. Anthony who worked on the pressing Social Issues of the day were concerned with Quality of Life Issues: Equal Pay for Equal Work

Broadcast IS My Family History. Women's Suffrage Centennial
As long as we are looking to this Nation's History, I decided to add a Permanent Page in recognition of WHY my inspiration for "Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How to Tame the Red Carpet in YOUR Office" was really born of the fact that Broadcast is my family business. My motivation is not to say say "Hey look at me I'm a Big Shot." No. I can't stand the viciousness on TV these days. Can I tell you I am going BANKRUPT doing this??? "Yes, I'd Like to Thank the Academy: How

Elizabeth Cady Stanton - Solitude of Self 1892 Address Before Congress. Women's Suffrage Centenn
Universal Suffrage, or Voting Rights for ALL, was THE primary Goal for Elizabeth Cady Stanton. While various Women's Rights efforts had been around in various parts of the young Country since the 1700's at the beginning of the Republic - beginning with First Lady Abigail Adams, there was no cohesive National Women's Rights Movement until the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848. "The Declaration of Sentiments," modeled after the Declaration of Independence, the primary document th

The 36th State. Tennessee Delivers the 19th Amendment. Women's Suffrage Centennial
Nashville Public Television has an outstanding presentation on what it took for the Northern Suffragists to gain support for the 19th Amendment in the Southern States. Tennessee was the 36th State to Ratify the 19th Amendment on August 18, 1920 by their State House of Representatives, thus paving the way for National Ratification into the Constitution. Interestingly enough is that at around the same time prior to the Civil War (1861- 1865) that Northern Abolitionists includin
