Discrimination on ACCOUNT of Sex would be ILLEGAL under the Equal Rights Amendment, yet it's been languishing on President Biden's desk since 2020, following a Department of Justice Memo from Trump's Attorney General Bill Barr.
In this DOJ Directive, Barr rendered an opinion suggesting that the ERA not be honored, even though it was duly Ratified as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
This is the same President who made a Campaign PROMISE to Women that should he be elected, he would do everything in his power to gain Constitutional Equality FOR WOMEN.
This is the same President who recognized that Violence Against Women is a MASSIVE PROBLEM & Actually wrote the VAWA Act.
On what planet do people not recognize that HATE SPEECH LEADS TO HATE CRIMES & VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN???
I think much of the push back is in terms of the First Amendment right to Free Speech.
However, there are certain types of Speech that have NEVER BEEN CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED, & yet the STUNNING HYPOCRISY with Racial Slurs is beyond comprehension.
Isolated incidents of Racial Slurs are FRONT PAGE NEWS while Black Musicians are given Carte Blanche to SLANDER WOMEN with impunity & it is ACTUALLY CELEBRATED & REWARDED in the Media & Society.
Case in point, JUST THIS WEEK, on the SAME DAY as the MTV Music Television Video Music Awards, there was a much publicized story about the Duke University/Brigham Young Basketball Game where a student was subjected to QUOTE "Racial Slurs" while Black Musicians WERE BEING REWARDED FOR SEXIST SLURS AGAINST WOMEN.
The jaw-dropping HYPOCRISY IS STUNNING.
You mean to tell me that Black Musicians can SLANDER WOMEN with impunity & MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN PROFIT FROM SEXIST SLURS while you SCREAM TO THE HIGH HEAVEN ABOUT RACIAL SLURS????

Yes, you absolutely do & I have to STAND UP FOR WOMEN & DEMAND THAT YOU STOP THE SEXIST SLURS.
And it's not just MTV. They just happened to be the Awards Show that was going on during all these shenanigans.

The U.S. Supreme Court first defined them in Chaplinsky v New Hampshire (1942) as words which "by their very utterance, inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace."

Slander in Black Music DOES FOR A FACT have a CAUSE & EFFECT relationship in CAUSING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.

These SEXIST SLURS devalue the lives of women increasing the odds that they will be the victims of Domestic Violence at the hand of the Men in their lives.
