My Birthday Wish. Ratify the #EqualRightsAmendment

My Birthday Wish #ImpeachTrumpAgain Then Ratify the #EqualRightsAmendment

ON THIS DAY, January 13, 1961, I was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. Yes, I know - hardly a National Holiday - unlike MLK with whom I've had to share my Birthday Weekend for as long as I've lived in Houston.

The four days of festivities from Friday to Monday every year encompass the Houston Marathon & finish with the MLK Day Parade on Monday every year.

This year, it has come to my attention that I have another TOWERING FIGURE IN US HISTORY with whom to share my Birthday - none other than Feminist Shero Alice Paul.

WOMEN'S HISTORY is not taught in Schools. No wonder I'm just now hearing this for the first time. Alice Paul has been brushed aside in favor of MLK - never mind that WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE CIVIL RIGHTS.

Yes, I know her Birthday is 1/11 & mine is 1/13 - but considering MLK is 1/15, I would MUCH PREFER to share my Birthday with HER than HIM.

STOP TRYING TO FIX RACISM WITH SEXISM.

Publish the Equal Rights Amendment & Have a Nice Day.

UPDATE. What do you give a Health Insurance Agent for her Birthday? A Paid Day Off to take care of my own Health Care.

I have been a Licensed Agent for 17 years now, spending my time taking care of the Healthcare needs of others.

Now it's my turn.

In November of 2021 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Peripheral Neuropathy & Pre-Osteoporosis - all 3 in my feet.

For my Birthday this year, I'm hoping to give myself 10 more years wheel-chair-free.

From what I understand, RA flares & then goes into remission, so I'm hoping this is only the first wave that I can manage with medication & Lifestyle.

Recently, I heard a saying that "Motion is Lotion," so basically I need to stand up out of my chair & start walking.

I should also likely take a new picture for this post.

While I do still look pretty much the same, today is 1/13, not August 26th.

It is January 13, 2022. I can't believe I need to post my Birthday Post AGAIN this year in support of the Publication of the Equal Rights Amendment. I would write something new, but as a Health Insurance Agent, I need to do something that will put a Dollar in my pocket rather than trying to keep this Blog alive - I can't keep "Hobby-Blogging for Free" when I need a Paycheck.

With all of the talk of Diversity, this just goes to show how BIG OF A PROBLEM SEXISM is in this country.

WOMEN have been written out of the Constitution from the beginning.

On purpose.

On January 27, 2020, the state of Virginia became the 38th state to Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment into their State Constitution, yet the National Archivist REFUSES TO DO HIS JOB by Certifying this Ratification & publishing the ERA as the 28th Amendment into the Constitution.

If you've not yet snagged your copy, you can get it here now.

January 13th, 2021. I've been spending more time taking care of myself, my family & my little Business since the 1st of the year instead of Blogging.

So much has happened in the past almost four years since the 2016 Presidential Election & so many of us were so hopeful - ARE so hopeful - for the end to our National Nightmare.

Then the greatest Constitutional Crisis in the life of our Country happens: a sitting President of the United States orders a Siege of our Capital.

This Morning ACTION will be taken to remove this Man who is UNFIT for Office.

I'm not sure how much I will watch on TV.

I'm not sure how much I will participate on Social Media.

Today is my 60th Birthday.

(BTW - can I skip ahead to 70? I am NOT looking forward to being 60-anything)

The complete & total lack of ETHICS in the Republican Party who FAILED to IMPEACH Trump the first time are now realizing the damage done to our Government .

I keep thinking that all of this could have been prevented by Electing Hillary Clinton as our First Madam President EVER.

But Sexism is a Problem.

Misogyny is a Problem.

This is the 3rd time I've "recycled" my Birthday Post.

The first time was in 2018. It talks about my thoughts on Racial Equality & what it means to be a White, English-Speaking WOMAN in Houston, TX.

Then again in 2019, honoring the work of the Honorable Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg.

So while I won't exactly be "taking the day off" I would actually like to enjoy my birthday even if it's just taking a hot bubble bath.
